Exactly. If it sounds good in the mix, mission accomplished. I’m always amazed at how thin a vocal can sound solo’d, but then it sounds amazing in the mix. I think most of us start out trying to make everything sound good solo’d, at the expense of making the mix sound good.

At least I was in the ballpark w/ HPF & compression. Even if I can’t tell exactly what’s going on, with every one of these lessons and my own newb questions I’m gaining more confidence approaching mixing. Thanks again Joe.

Wow, no hishekf boost, its suprising… yeah always cut than boost!:) Regarding HPF and comp, I was right only the release parameter missed.
