This might offend some people.

Heck, it offends me a little bit.

In this episode, I talk about the one thing that is keeping you (and me) from getting anything done in our studios.

And I share some specific ways that I’ve found that help me overcome this one thing, even as recently as this morning.

I also answer some great questions about stuff like:

  • Dealing with noise on the front and back ends of your songs
  • Options for getting your music on iTunes, Amazon, etc. (and what I use)
  • My stupid-simple method for knowing when my mix is finished
  • Panning suggestions for string arrangements

So glad you shared the “F.E.A.R.” (false evidence appearing real) factor. It is a real hindrance that affects us all. Just hearing you acknowledge it made me feel better knowing that it’s not just me.

Thanks for the opening segment. That really hit home to realize how my fears of my work not being good enough has held me back. Lol, and the tendency to find “good things” to do to distract/procrastinate. I definitely cleaned up clutter and reorganized my studio this past weekend instead of actually working on music.

We all do it. Just today I REALLY wanted to waste an hour trying to figure out how to run an ethernet cable through the ceiling from one room to my studio. I stopped myself and got back to work on stuff that actually matters. 🙂

Have you read “Daring Greatly” by Brené Brown? Your segment on fear and vulnerability reminded me of that. I’m reading it now.

Bandcamp is a great option even if you are selling primarily on another store…especially if you have merchandise like vinyl or tshirts, etc
