Do you ever feel like mixing is kind of like the movie The Matrix?

You know you could produce better mixes — you can feel it — but they always seem out of reach, off in the distance.

You scour the internet and magazines for tips and advice. You devour every piece of information you come across, but The Mix seems as unattainable as it ever was.

You wonder if you’re missing something. If maybe you just weren’t cut out for this whole music thing, that you’re destined to always make mediocre music.

It feels like there’s a “secret” out there. Much like the Matrix, you feel it’s there, but you can’t find it. That is, until a bald dude with sunglasses (that magically “sit” on his nose and never fall off) offers you a pill.

The pill, he says, will lead to finally find out what the Matrix is. It sounds like the super-duper secret trap door you’ve been looking for all this time! But the bald guy says something interesting, something that you pretty much ignore:

“All I offer is the truth, nothing more.”

As much as I wish I could shave my head and wear those magically stick-to-your-nose sunglasses, I can’t. (My head is WAY too big for that.) But what I can do is offer you something similar to what Morpheus offered Neo.

The truth.

See, when Neo took the pill, he discovered that his whole life was a fake. a computer-generated world designed to trap his mind. By taking the pill, he discovered the “truth” that his world wasn’t real.

That’s tough pill to swallow. (Ba-dum-dum.)

He also quickly discovered that even thought he was considered to be “the One” who would finally defeat the Matrix, it wasn’t going to come easy. The truth was revealed to him, and then he had to work his hiney off to become skilled enough to really make a difference.

And that, my friend, is what mixing is like.

The truth is that you absolutely CAN create jaw-dropping mixes in your home studio, but it’s not going to happen overnight. You can learn skills, theories, and techniques, but the real “secret” is to apply what you learn over and over and over and over again.

I can offer you help and training.

But you’ve gotta put in the work.

If you’re up for the challenge, and you’re ready to take your mixes up a level or two (or twelve), sign up for Understanding Mixing:

www.UnderstandingMixing.com

These videos will sell for $247, but if you sign up for the class before October 1st, you get $50 off.

It ain’t cheap, but if you put in the work you’ll easily make that money back with your next paid gig.

Either way, I’m excited to embark on a new adventure with you.

You coming?
