Know what that picture is? That’s the master copy of my finished album. 🙂

If you’ve been a part of Home Studio Corner for any length of time, you’ve heard me talk about my album for quite some time. And as I mentioned in The Magic of Finishing, it feels amazing to be done with this album.

Granted, the album artwork isn’t quite finished, and I have a handful of things to do now before the release date (TBD), but the audio portion of the album is done.

I’ve got all sorts of ideas for blog posts, podcasts, videos, etc., all dealing with things I’ve learned throughout the process of making this album, but for today I simply want to encourage you. If you’re in the middle of a seemingly endless album project, you WILL get there. Just keep doing the things you know you need to do, and ignore the stuff that doesn’t matter.

Trust me, it feels great to be finished. All the writers block, the song rewrites, pre-production, all the different takes, the editing, the mixing, the re-mixing, and then sending your “baby” to a mastering engineer….it’s all worth it.

I’ll be announcing more details later. If you want to mix this album yourself, you can start TONIGHT by joining You’ll download and mix the multi-track audio files for the entire 10-song album. It’s pretty fun.

Alright, that’s it for now. Talk soon!

Congrats Joe! It sounds very nice.

And thank you again for what you do. My recordings have improved so much since I have been gleening from you. I learned alot from

    what M.E. do you use

  • Awesome! Looking forward to hear it! 🙂

  • Congrats buddy! A finished CD, finished master, finishing is what it’s all about. Thanks again for sharing your processes this past year and a half, and for allowing your album to be an awesome learning resource. That CD you’re holding right there, the material on it, helped moved a lot of folks forward including myself. Again, congratulations. As a MWU member, I can’t wait to hear it (again)!

Not long till its out now 😀

it would be really cool to see a sample of your progression. E.g. 10 second clip of the recorded draft version, then the fully recorded one, then the fully mixed one and finally the mastered version.

  • Congrats Joe!!!

This is THE reason of spending all our time/money/energies in tracking/editing/mixing/buying gear/reselling it/studying…. to do at the best what we love: music 🙂

Congratulations!! Heard lots of parts of some of the songs but can’t wait to hear the full tracks. Got a catchy title for it?

P.S. When will the one hour challenge course begin. I’m signed up and anxious to start.

Nice! My band and I have been trying to finish our EP, our goal is releasing it before school starts in 2 weeks. I am very excited because it’s my first band and our first release ever and we are very close to finishing it. It’s going to be a free download and we’ll be giving out cd’s at school so I’m eager to see what people think of it. But anyways congrats on finishing the album! Will it have the song in your “Intro to EQ” video?

  • Yeah, man! Congratulations! Can’t wait to hear it.

Gratz Joe. I’m looking forward to hearing it.
