[UPDATE: It has sold.]

If you hang out with me on the HSC Facebook page, then you may have seen me talking about selling my 003.

Now I know that just a few weeks ago I talked about Pro Tools 9 and how I wasn’t in any hurry to upgrade. I warned you not to upgrade simply for the sake of upgrading. And you’re probably tired of hearing me talk about Gear Acquisition Syndrome, but it’s becoming a recurring theme here on HSC, but I never want to be that guy that suggests buying new equipment will always fix your problems.

That being said, I’m excited to change things up a bit. I’ve upgraded to Pro Tools 9, and I’m in the process of trying out several different Presonus interfaces, including the StudioLive. I’ve got some connections that allow me to try these out pretty extensively. I’ve got a LOT of fun stuff planned to share with you, so stay tuned, and make sure you sign up for the newsletter if you haven’t yet. (All the cool kids are doing it.) 🙂

So…back to the 003

Why am I considering selling the 003? It’s a perfectly good interface/control surface.

However, the MAJOR reason behind moving to a different interface is because of HSC. As you know, I love making tutorial videos. And there are some fairly significant roadblocks I’ve had to deal with in the past with the 003 when it comes to shooting/recording tutorial videos. I’ve had to sacrifice in a few ways to make it work, and it’s time to make changes before I shoot more videos, etc.

I’ll fill you in on specifics as I go, but just know that strictly as a recording interface/control surface, the 003 ROCKS. However, since I’m running HSC, and I want my videos to be as good as possible, I need a better solution.

What does that mean for you? Well, for one of you, it means a great deal on a great interface (and some free tutorial videos).

Here’s the deal. I was planning on popping this thing on eBay and selling it, but I hate the idea of my sweet little 003 going into the hands of a complete stranger. I’d much rather one of my HSC friends adopt it. 🙂

After doing some research, I’ve set the price at $1,200. They sell new for around $2,200 new. I’ve had it for two years, and I’m the only owner.

To sweeten the deal, I’ll let whoever buys the 003 have his/her pick of any of my tutorial videos (I bet you could twist my arm to give you more than one…or two…or three… 🙂
