8 years ago today, Pam and I got married.

It’s been a wild ride, with some major highs and major lows, but there’s no one else I’d rather spend my life with.

So, I’m up early this morning, doing my early morning routine, and I decided to write up a list of things I love about my wife.

You should, too.

No, silly. Not about my wife.

About MUSIC.

When’s the last time you sat down and thought about why you do music? Why did you pick up that first guitar? Why did you write that first song?

What led to that fateful day where you bought your first piece of recording equipment?

It’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day craziness that we can forget WHY we’re doing what we’re doing.

Running around, taking care of a three-year-old and his little twin sisters life crazy, but it would be even crazier to never stop and remind ourselves why we do it.

Why did I get married?

Why did we have kids?

Why do you make music?

The answer will inspire and rejuvenate you. You’ll want to run into the studio right now and make some music.

That’s the goal, anyway.

P.S. I’m planning to shoot a video this week for my VIP members, outlining the top reasons I got into music, and why I keep making music, even when it’s difficult. There will be a place for you to leave a comment with YOUR reasons for making music. It’s going to be one huge collection of reminders to get your fired up to make music, a shot in the arm for your studio…something you can come back to when you’re not “feeling it.”
