Howdy.

I want to tell you about a side project I’ve been slowly growing over the last few years. I don’t write about it a lot here. I’ve mostly only shared it with my VIP members, but I wanted to make sure you knew about it. I’ll get to that in a second.

How much do you think about your home studio in terms of VALUE?

Does your studio provide real, tangible, make-them-pull-out-their-wallet-and-give-you-money value? If not (or if you’re not sure), you need to make VALUE the focus of everything you do this year in your studio.

Here’s the thing about value: it has nothing to do with what you think you deserve. If you have a sense of entitlement (“I’ve spent thousands of dollars on this equipment; why don’t these greedy musicians give me their money?”) you’ll never make much traction. Take the focus off what YOU want. Take the focus off what YOU think is valuable. It’s only valuable if other people want it. If no one wants what you’re selling, it’s not valuable enough yet. Focus on creating something valuable for THEM first.

While that may seem like a daunting task, it’s exciting to me. It means all I have to do is figure out what’s valuable to people and offer it to them. In doing so, my business may look drastically different than I expected, but that’s okay.

For example, I never imagined I would provide a service to record a full band of Nashville musicians on people’s songs. It never occurred to me that something like this would be valuable to people. Then I tried it, and people bought it. So I did it again, and again, improving it a little each time, always focusing on making it more valuable.

And now I’ve got this really fun part of my business where I get to spend a day in the studio with four other musicians, recording other people’s songs and bringing them to life.

It’s a blast, and we’ve got another session coming up on February 15th, one month from today. Space is extremely limited, since we can only do a handful of songs in one day.

Do you have a song you’d like to hire us to record for you?

Do you want to see what one of these sessions looks like?

Click the link below. There’s a video there along with a detailed explanation of what the session includes.

I hope you’ll hire us for a song or two. You’ll LOVE the tracks we send back to you. I promise.
